External DVD Burner & Ubuntu 7.04 in Compaq Preasrio 700?

Hi Min
I use them all the time - i've got a couple that are regularly shuffled 
between a debian nec server, my fiesty kubuntu vaio and fiesty generic 
desktop, and girlfriends ubuntu desktop

so far no hassles or complications. Some of these machines have had a long 
history, and I dont recall if I ever had to install any sort of automouter or 
not for convenience, but bottom line is a frequently read/write to/from dvds 
and cds via usb2 - havent tried firewire.
