Indeed.  Though probably my most important experience with Ubuntu was 
buying a new laptop and having everything Just Work<tm> out of the box.  
Granted, I did some (but not a lot of) research before buying the 
laptop, but it still impressed me a lot.

Not very shiny though ;)
