Package Installation Problems

Hi,

I recently installed Ubuntu 6.10. I wanted to use KDE as well as GNOME,
so I thought that I would install the KDE packages from the Kubuntu 6.10
DVD that I had already downloaded. I had done this before with Ubuntu
6.06 and it worked fine. This time, I was not able to use synaptic to
install the packages that I want, as it did not pick up the DVD. I first
tried to use the 'Add Cd-rom' button in the repositories dialog, but it
stopped at the part that said 'unmounting cd'. I then tried to use the
apt-cdrom command to allow synaptic to recognise it, but I got an error
message. I have included the full command listing below:

joel at joel-ubuntu:~$ apt-cdrom add

Does anyone know how I can use synaptic to install the packages that I
want from the Kubuntu 6.10 DVD? Any help would be appreciated.

Joel
