On the marketing note

I noticed an email on one of the Ubuntu mailing lists that discussed the
topic of how we refer to the Ubuntu versions. It is an area that I took
note of and thought I would share the small bit of wisdom for those who
may not have seen it.
The post revolved around how we refer to the Ubuntu releases and the
fact that some new users might be put off by the fact we are refer to a
product as the 'Dapper Drake', and not it's official version '6.06'.
After reading this I decided to started referring to the new Ubuntu as
Ubuntu 6.06 and not Ubuntu Dapper whenever I remembered.
I know it's only a small thing, but maybe it has a greater impact than
one would initially have thought. I know Ubuntu 6.06 sounds much more
professional that 'Ubuntu Dapper', and on an added note the official
'Breezy' CD's don't come with Breezy on the cover, they are Ubuntu
Version 5.10.
Cheers,
Andrew (Phlosten)
