Hey, just chiming in to tell y'all that it is possible to have the
transparency fade to opaque.
Run gconf-editor, then edit the gconf
entry /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_shade_opacity: check the checkbox, or set
it to true with the command line tool (not sure how to do this).
