Hmm, what exactly do you dislike about the maximize/etc? I think those 
buttons are perfect because they are simultaneously unobtrusive and 
immediately obvious as to their functions.

P.S. That wood background is rather nice and would work well with the 
theme. I just worry it might not have quite enough 'personality' to be 
the default background. However, I would definitely want to include that 
as a preinstalled wallpaper for users to select (a nice light-colored 
option for those who prefer that over the predominantly darker backgrounds).
