[ubuntu-art] Gutsy wallpaper observation

I have to say that the given default for gutsy seems like a pretty poor
choice. Wallpaper is one of the first things people see when looking at
Ubuntu. It should be cool. It should be inspiring. It should not be some
smeared brown abstraction of curves. There are at least 3 or 4 submitted
wallpapers that I think most people would consider unequivocally better.
In particular, I'd include the elephant wallpaper.

Something else to note: In the past the wallpaper that (IMO) people have
thought was the best wallpaper included by default is Dawn of Ubuntu.
People liked it and noted it. I've never heard similar comments long
after about any of the abstract wavy-glossy things that have been
defaulted recently.

All in all, I think the default wallpaper should be something that makes
people stop and take a second look without overpowering. And it's very
clear that the wallpaper in question fails.

So yes it's past art submission deadline, but we had MUCH better art
than that submitted before the deadline... so WHY did it get picked?
