You have been subscribed to a public bug by Scott Kitterman (kitterman):
The gnomescan package we have in Ubuntu has been introduced to Debian
with it's Upstream name "gnome-scan" [1].
I propose the following:
Remove gnomescan binary and source package from Ubuntu
Sync gnome-scan from Debian
RATIONALE:
The Debian package is in a much better shape than the Ubuntu one. While this could easily be rectified, it's still double work.
We have no special options in the Ubuntu build of gnomescan compared to Debian.
POSSIBLE REGRESSIONS:
None, there are NO reverse depends and the code stays the same.
If the release team agrees, I'll subscribe ubuntu-archive to this bug
and will request a sync of gnome-scan.
Thanks.
