I didn't see this; thanks.  However, it does not help since other bits
that you link to (libreadline for instance) is GPL without this
clause.  Also, the files in lib/ seems to be lacking the exception
clause.

Yes.  As a way around this, I would recommend seeing if the program
works with the OpenSSL compatibility bits from GNUTLS and if it
doesn't port it to use GNUTLS proper.
