Make Ubuntu desktop a better platform for App Developers

Could you write blog post on your experience from switching from Windows
development to Ubuntu?

I used Qt to develop my program and while I've never managed to get it
packaged for Ubuntu due to my lack of fortitude, I'd still love to.
