An additional note: ctrl+alt+tab shortcut doesn't work if you window
manager is Compiz (automatically enabled when your graphic card driver
supports 3D), or, better, ctrl+alt+tab performs a different action.

If so, you can switch to Metacity window manager pressing Alt+F2, then
running the following command: metacity --replace
