Maybe someone can answer a question about wireless networks with ubuntu

Hi, I can now use Orca to connect to my wireless network using the included tools.
Here is the problem I am having. My ubuntu machine connects to my router fine. But when I try to connect to a computer to computer network it will not connect. I know the key is right because my windows computers all connect fine. But for some reason the ubuntu computer won't connect.
Has anyone else experimented with this?
