Are you using Firefox 3 or the Firefox that shipped with Ubuntu?  Our
target for access is Firefox 3:

Which speech synthesizer are you using and how have you configured
speech with Orca?

http://live.gnome.org/Orca would be the best place to start.  I also
recommend that you join the orca-users list:

  http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/orca-list

For the most part, the orca-users list is a very positive and helpful
environment.
