problems with e-mail and webb browsing

Hi All,

I have installed ubuntu 7.4 with orca.

I have been attempting to navigate pages with firefox and am not getting 
any speech feedback.

On occasions, I get the links announced but no text is announced.  Orca 
reads "html container" and that is all I get.

I also find that once the system has started and orca comes up, I do not 
seem to get any reliable speech.

Is there anything else I should install to improve things, I have a hardware 
speech synth, if that would help.

When I start and get no speech, my daughter tells me that the update 
manager is suggesting updates, she gets the updates but there is no 
speech during all of this process.

Is there any documentation I should be reading?
