Potential issue when rebuilding gnome-speech under feisty.

Hi all,

I've noticed a potentially bad situation as things currently stand with feisty and gnome-speech. As of now, espeak is included, and is the default synthesizer for Orca. This is great; but if someone tries to rebuild gnome-speech and neglects to first install libespeak-dev, the result will be a copy of gnome-speech in which espeak doesn't get built. What would happen in this instance? would the previously installed espeak driver still work, or would the synthesizer no longer be available?

If festival is ultimately removed from the default installation, the worst case scenario could be that by rebuilding gnome-speech and not installing libespeak-dev, someone who is reliant on a screen reader could render their system completely unusable.

One solution might be to add libespeak-dev as a dependency for gnome-speech, thereby preventing this situation from ever happening in the first place.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
