What has happened to ksnapshot?

I have used ksnapshot for years to take screen shots of a region I define, and now I find it no longer in the repository for Ubuntu 16.10. What has happened to it? Is there something equivalent that I can use instead (kgrab does not work for me -- I cannot select a region and as far as I can see, you don't have the same options for formats to be saved).
