Hey Folks,
Welcome to the first edition of Summit News, your source of information
for the upcoming Ubuntu Summit in Prague, November 7–9th. Over the next
few weeks, we will be sending you some regular updates on what you need
to know before you (decide to) go. If you can’t make it to the event,
we’ll give you some inside information to fight that fomo, and you’ll be
the first to know when we continue our new tradition in 2023.
Without further ado, here is the latest information:
* Does the world know you are doing something amazing with Ubuntu? The
Call for Proposals is now open! Given this event is all about the
community, we’d love to have you lead a talk or workshop. Interested?
Some time between now and September 30th, please fill out our proposal
form and tell us a bit more. Once the submission deadline has passed, we
will work on scheduling and then reach out to individuals either
accepting or rejecting the proposal.
* We have a new blog post[0] that showcases how the Ubuntu Summit is
different from the Ubuntu Developer Summits, so go check it out!
* Public registration for the event opened on September 5th. If you have
already received an invite, please let us know as soon as possible if
you will come join the party.
* We have set up an event management platform to be the website used for
info, registration, and the final timetable. It is based on Indico,
which has become popular for other open source conferences (like
GUADEC[1] and Akademy[2]) and we are excited to have our very own
instance[3] to use for conference organisation!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at
summit at ubuntu.com and we will get back to you. Otherwise, have a great
day everyone!
Cheers,
The Ubuntu Summit Organising Team
