Seeing as this is a LibreOffice thread, but nobody is saying anything
about LibreOffice. So, I decided to post this. I grabbed the Win32
version of LibreOffice for another PC running WinXP I have here to
replace MS Office. Its actually pretty nice...
1. It started a lot faster than OpenOffice and installed faster.
2. It doesn't install that system tray app that OpenOffice users,
which is nice.
3. It may be Oracle-free, but it still requires the JRE which isn't
Oracle-free.
Thought that was interesting, but oh well a lot of stuff still requires the JRE.
I use Abiword on this machine which runs Xubuntu. I'm considering
LibreOffice on this system, but might wait for 11.04.
