There's really nothing stopping Apple from adding Ogg support to the
iPod/iPhone, but they want to lock people into their products only.
Again, an over-inflated opinion of their importance in the mobile
marketplace. If Micro$oft tried this it would be the Spanish
Inquisition all over again. (Nobody ever expects the Spanish
Inquisition) ;-)

W3C should grow a pair and finalize the standard with Ogg Theora and
tell the corporations wanting to cash in on HTML5 video codec
licensing to go to hell. The new standard wasn't created to line
their pockets or strengthen their market share. It was made to
provide web developers with new tools to create richer content and to
further the web's evolution.
