Advice sought on SATA controllers

I want to replace the EIDE drives in one of my servers - 4 * 40GB, so
not exactly high-end these days - with a set of 4 * 300MB SATA drives
a mate has given me. Snag is, the server is EIDE and SCSI only and it
only has 64-bit PCI-X slots, no ordinary 32-bit PCI slots.

Note, PCI-X *not* PCI-E!

So I want a cheap & cheerful at-least-4-port SATA controller that
works well with Ubuntu Server. No RAID functionality, I was going to
do that in software.

Any suggestions from the panel?
