The successful corporate stock holders know this and their votes center around keeping the customer voteing with their dollars. When a company becomes corrupt and operates in a self interest that ignores the customers needs they are not long for this world except that Government programs and laws prop them up until they become to big to fail. The banks, lending institution and auto manufacturers who have failed were propped up by Government and are now largely owned by Government. Seems like a pattern to me.
For the last fifty years the smaller manufacturers that have been
making automotive parts have been waiting for the auto industry to fail
so they can take over the the automobile market. Guess what, it now
belongs to a bankrupt Government and the auto workers unions. Guess
what else they are both leftist organisations. I find it amazing that
the left who has been terrified at haveing to run a buisness and compete
for customer dollars has now realised it's worst fears. They will now
have to actually run something at a proffit. Since profit is their
dirtiest word, that is a show I can't wait to see. So now the smaller
companies will have to wait for this conglomeration to loose the auto
market before they pick it up and realize their dreams. These guys
are chomping at the bit to compete with automakers the world over and
they have a new buisness model to do it with. That model is the old
outdated model of making cars that young men and women can fall in love
with. Sexy body styles and names that will capture their imagination.
I thought to take advantage of the $4500 car allowance and went and
drove a government General Motors car. What an experience that was . A
third world automobile, no power and ugly as home made sin. It is so
little a teenager can't even get in the back seat with his girlfriend.
People don't want this junk unless the Government is going to pay most
of the cost and even then they don't like them. A fellow about 50 years
old buying one with Governemnt money told me that: " I never thought I
would ever drive SH*T like this". I guess if someone wants to give you
thousands of dollars of your tax money back or give it to someone else
it's kind of hard not to take it even if you do have to drive a grocery
cart.
I didn't get the car and I didn't take the money but I did get back
in my old car and drive away with my sense of pride intact.
Anyway I don't agree that business is corrupt unless it is failing
and as long as it is succeeding it has to have it's customers interest
at heart and and a desire to make a profit. It is business leaders on
the right that know this and it is the left that attempts to inject all
manner of other reasons for a company to operate and usually in the name
of the public good as if that justifies thrier corrupting political
ideas.
