That was, of course, only one of many problems.

So you're NOT running 8.10.  How, then, is that relevant?  I was assured
that KDE 4.2 would support dual monitors.  Great.  However, 8.10 and KDE
4.1 didn't, at least, support the sort of setup I use in 8.04.
