I would never try to convince you guys to join my opinions, but I
think you might be confusing "organized religion" with specific
churches that have tried to take over government, instead of just
influencing it for good (such as Wilberforce in England).
Taking accountability to a higher force out of society has not faired
very well in history either. Hitler, Stalin, Mao. The Killing Fields
in Asia.
I think humanity is not very good at choosing their own morality.
Science only contributes to technology, not morality, in my view.
I have seen lives changed over the years in very positive ways by the
Christian religion. That is just my experience.
I guess we will agree to disagree on some things.
I think we might agree that the African meaning of Ubuntu is a very
positive foundation for interpersonal relationships.
