Which I can totally get behind. And re-reading my email, I think my
tone was a little harsher than I intended... I was trying for
lighthearted and a little irony in there myself. But one of the
number one things I hear when I suggest to the virus-ridden that they
try Ubuntu is something along the lines of "don't you have to be a
super-genius to use Linux?" The answer, as I've plainly seen evidenced
on this and other lists is a resounding NO. But I think that comments
(sarcastic or otherwise) about the average intelligence of MSN/windows
users etc. is at the very least detrimental to my personal evangelism
efforts, which are born from not wanting to have to fix as many
computers, because I honestly don't care what OS anyone else uses
unless they want me to fix it.
So in the spirit of brotherly love I am asking, politely, please don't
harsh on the windows users: the vast majority of them are scarcely
aware that there are alternatives. It will make my life a little
easier in the long run. Maybe yours too.
