"Shouldn't" - probably true, but ... well, this is not always so easy -

Of course these bugs appear to be bugs in Opera's packaging, not Ubuntu's .

While this kind of thing will, with luck, pop up an error that is
understandable , telling you to move the offending symlink/directory or
whatever out of the way and try again, this is not for the new or the
faint of heart :) It can certainly be enough to stop an upgrade in its
tracks, and require some intervention...
