Ubuntu has nearly the same logo as the Microsoft Alumni Network

If they copied it, sure. What you're looking for is trademark law, and yes,
the Ubuntu logo is trademarked. But it's hard to say whether a) it's going
to be seen as a violation of the trademark and b) whether it would be worth
picking on Microsoft for it at all.
