Pardon me if I missed something, but I didn't really get an
anti-gNewSense feel from the discussion.

My opinion is that removing low-level proprietary code, especially
firmware, is currently not going to suit the needs of a lot of people.
Whether I like it or not, I find myself in the rather unfortunate
position of relying on such proprietary software, and I'm grateful for
all the work that has gone into Ubuntu to make my hardware work whilst
remaining true, to a large extent, to the ideals of GNU. As such,
it's not very likely that I'll be using gNewSense in the near future.
That said, I think it's absolutely fantastic that it exists and I hope
it gains great popularity and wish it every success, as I will
hopefully benefit from it in the future as I'm hoping it will speed
the delivery of free solutions to my hardware woes. It's existence
can really be nothing but a good thing for everyone. Fundamentalists,
pragmatic idealists, and straight-up pragmatists will all benefit from
what I would consider a united effort to provide the right solution
for anyone, as long as the upstream/downstream partnerships are
managed well.

Perhaps this is also the position of others here too.

"not likely to use it right now" != "opposed to it"

My 2p,
Pete
