Because I thought that they made a strong point to supply the distro on
a single disc ? So I thought, the only way to get more space and still
fit on a single disc is to... switch from a CD to a DVD ! :-)
But if they are also giving up on the single disc goal as well, then
yes, I guess supplying 2 CD's is better than a single DVD. And it also
allows to go back to 650MB CD's I suppose.
But I guess it will increase the cost of the "shipit" program, although
IIRC they said that the cost of the CD's is kinda negligible relative to
the overall cost of the program, mainly due to the cost of shipping.
I think in the future I will order a DVD from shipit. This way I still
have the convenience of a single disc, and I don't have to buy a DVD
writer, and I get all of "main" on the disc, which can't hurt.
I am not sure if shipit will allow ordering of DVD's for Dapper, but
hopefully it will be possible for Edgy, along with an option to pay a
little something on a voluntary basis, to get the disc in an acceptable
time frame, say 2 weeks.

Well, let's just wait and see what happens... :-)
