Evolution terribly unstable

I was expecting this ;-)
I filled number of bugs about Evolution for months now. Most of them
are in the "nobody cares about" state. There are still 4 or 5 "2.4
stopper" bugs opened. Some are strangely resolved by developpers.
Like the unfamous "Spamassassin doesn't work in Evolution" that was
closed a few times with comments like "It works. I've seen the code
and it must work" or even "It works".
There is also the problem of unreproducible bugs, especially when it's
not your computer. As I'm not using POP, I can't track those bugs.
I know I'm only complaining. That's why this is posted on Sounder list ;-)
Well, as an answer, the only thing I see is to ask our beta testers to
test Evolution as much as they can in this last month. I know that a
lot of us are using Thunderbird, Sylpheed or an alternative mail
client.
I suggest that everybody involved in the Dapper testing process try to
use Evolution for the next 3 weeks, reporting as many bugs as we can,
trying to get backtrace and so one... Please people : use Evolution
(even if you can't see it in a picture) and try to convince other
Dapper Beta users to do the same. It's only 3 weeks in regard of the 3
years support !
On the positive side, I must add that the IMAP support in 2.6 is light
years ahead of what it was in 2.4. That's a really great improvement
and I'm glad to see it. Having an Evolution 2.4 in Dapper is not a
solution ! Remember that Ubuntu is about moving forward, always
forward...
