Possibly, but in general this seems to mostly be the big boys
bickering at each other. Bill seems to be, pretty blatantly, saying
that Google and MIT's work is not as good or as worthy as Microsoft's.
Bill certainly sees third world nations as emerging markets and he
would certainly want to get in on the monetary action. He will make
them seem great, make everyone else not working with MS tech seem
inferior. It seems now a days many companies don't pride themselves on
providing quality *useful* products, they just bash each other back
and forth.

Having access to tools to help us learn like computers, the Internet,
and such is immeasurably beneficial. In the process of learning,
people will learn to care for themselves and will even maybe someday
be able to help others in need as well.

At very least... Google and MIT are trying to help those less
fortunate (without expecting licensing revenue in return).
