It depends what you consider a "freeze". I have seen XP Pro bog down so
badly that it might as well have been frozen, but I don't think I've ever
had it lock up fully and permanently.

No argument. Any complete lockups I've had have been due to Xorg
misconfigurations that _I_ have caused. I wouldn't begin to suggest Linux
is not as good as XP. I just don't believe XP is as bad as most people
still think it is (in terms of completely crashing - it's still a POS).
