Yes, the Gentoo documentation is much easier to find, on the left hand side of the page two TOP sections of the menu are:

Installation: 
 Gentoo Handbook
 Installation Docs

Documentation: 
 Home
 Listing
 About Gentoo
 Philosophy
 Social Contract

Note that the installation documentation is prominently displayed first, followed by links to the rest of the documentation. Links to download the actual distribution are below this! It's no wonder that users find Gentoo documentation to be so good, its practically force fed to them and hence they are more likely to read it (the documentation itself is also quite good).
