The problem is that the author of automatix is not particularly friendly
towards people that propose enhancements (or users in general). A
separate project, called EasyUbuntu has been started and is close to a
first public release. These people do take advice seriously and imho
should be the coordinators of such an effort. Marek Spruell is the
person from that team who is most active on IRC and here on the sounder
list and can tell you/us more about it.
