SuSE came closest to "just working" for me. The big problem I had is 
sofrware _I_ want (no everage desktop here) wasn't on any of the CDs and 
Yast didn't know how to find it. It transpired that it's in the SuSE 
equivalent to universe.

SuSe configured all my network drives (ethernet, wireless and modem). On 
Breezy, I had to attack things with vim.

Both are fine distros, but both have their bugs. If I'd had my laptop 
lugged into a LAN, probably my ethernet and wireless would have been 
done properly.
