according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu) it is
/ùbúntú/ in the international phonetic alphabet.
But I still think we should have a sound bite from Mark somewhere.
How about after a successfull install, on the first boot you get:
"Hi, I'm Mark Shuttleworth, and welcome to Ubuntu". That would be a
nice friendly touch for new users :)
Of course that would mean quite a few sound recordings to do for all
the languages now supported by the installer... So maybe it is not
practical.
