The answer to both is "press escape".

And when it's needed, it can be shown.  I agree with you completely about
removing information, but that's not what we've done.  It's available 
when you need it, and when you don't, it stays out of your way.

Correct, when it won't boot.  The rest of the time, it's irrelevant.

If the firmware is legal for us to redistribute, we can include it so that
it can Just Work, as we do with the Atmel and Intel firmware.  Where can it
be found?
