ok.. this explain quite a lot. Can you do the following manual step for
me?

(still be sure to use the latest xresprobe as root)

/usr/share/xresprobe/xprobe.sh <driver>

it will print a temporary directory that contains a xfree86.log.

/usr/share/xresprobe/lcdsize.sh <driver> <path to xfree86.log>

remember to remove the temporary directory.

I am interested to see the log.
