Snappy Porting - file does not work after decompressing the tar

Can you tell me how to check ubuntu-device-version ?
I typed
*ubuntu-device-flash -h *
and the help messages shown on the terminal are
*Usage: ubuntu-device-flash [OPTIONS] <command>Application Options:
--revision= revision to use, absolute or relative allowed
--download-only Only download. --server= Use a different
image server (https://system-image.ubuntu.com
<https://system-image.ubuntu.com>) --clean-cache Cleans up cache
with all downloaded bits --tls-skip-verify Skip TLS certificate
validation -v, --verbose More messages will be printed outHelp
Options: -h, --help Show this help messageAvailable commands:
core Creates ubuntu core images personal Creates ubuntu personal

I dont see which command I can use to get the version.
