Vagrant and OVA Downloads fixed / [WAS] Vagrant VMDK file broken?

After some hacking away, I have confirmed a fix [1,2]. The snappy
Vagrant Boxes and Cloud OVA downloads now work again.
The root cause was our switch to GPT partitions. There is a bug with
Virtualbox where disks that have been converted from one format to
another (in our case raw to VMDK), use GPT/UEFI and are imported as
OV{A,F}, that Virtualbox fails to import. The work around is to copy the
bits into a final disk rather than to convert the disk.
