Hi,
Ubuntu Core is a brilliant project - smaller solid code base for IoT devices but with input from the whole Ubuntu community - what’s not to like.
I’m an elder geek that gets mixed up in all sorts - embedded 8 bit microprocessors with a single LED for feedback to desktop GUI apps for managing large retail sites imagery. Ubuntu Core fits my philosophy perfectly - I hate running excess code - so I’m looking forward to having something more locked down but supporting productive technologies like Python for faster prototyping for my embedded projects.
As I’ve been trying ‘stuff’, I’ve think I’ve banged my head against most of the edges of the Alpha release and have long laundry list of issues. The most compelling reason to share, as I’m sure everyone else has found many of the issues too, is that the current tutorial pages are a little disconnected from the current state of builds - some things work, some just don’t, some work if you know what buttons to press.
What is the best way to share this info?
The quickest way would be to annotate the Getting started, Using snappy and Build snaps pages. Some links appear to be circular references but may make more sense once I’ve rebooted (my brain) tonight.
Very happy to help with testing, can review code and code high level scripting.
Best wishes,
Nick
