Snaps on Ubuntu Classic or Debian are a nice way to transition, yes,
until all the snaps are in place for your device. If you are shipping
many devices to the field, then the management cost of a pure-snap
approach should be dramatically lower than the cost of a mixed
classic+snap approach.
