In short, we don't handle it yet. We really want to, though.

is our spec to get this done.
This other one is somewhat related, and covers supporting variant
translations like sr at Latn or ca at valencia.

I'm aware the details for these specs are not public. Carlos, do you
think we can get permission to publish these two somewhere else so
the English team can have a look and tell us what they think?
