Importing half-done OpenOffice.org translation

Hi all.

I'm leading the Esperanto translation of OpenOffice.org. I'd like to
make use of Launchpad to facilitate the work, and I've got two
questions:
  (1) How do I move a partially completed translation based on OOo's
~230 .po files onto Launchpad?
  (2) What, if any, admin tasks do I need to complete with Rosetta/
Launchpad before we can start?

If it's required, please consider this message to be a formal request
from me, the project leader, to have the Esperanto translation
project of OpenOffice.org hosted on Launchpad.net. For reference, the
plural rule for Esperanto is the same as English: n<>1.

======================

Actually, I've got a possible answer to question (1) already, so I'd
appreciate your comments on what's wrong with it, or why it's so
simple that it's brilliant.  ;-)

Is there any reason why I can't just do something like:

    $ msgcat `find . -name "*.po"` > our_work_so_far.po

to put all our work to date into one giant .po file, then download
the .po file for (e.g.) Writer from Launchpad and do:

    $ msgmerge everything.po writer_file_from_launchpad.po

In the resulting file, I'd then just strip out the #~ obsolete
messages from the end of the file, and re-import it back into Launchpad.

Would that work? Is it hopelessly flawed? What would do the job better?

=======================

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Tim Morley
