If you want to translate GNOME specifically, the best way to do that is
to get in contact with your GNOME translation team (see
http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/). Otherwise, you (and all other
Slovenian users) might end up in the unfortunate situation that your
translations would only be used by Ubuntu, whereas if the translation
took place in the GNOME Translation Project it would automatically be
used not only in Ubuntu but all other distros that ship GNOME as well
(Debian, Fedora, RHEL, Mandriva, SuSE, Sun, and so on).
