Translating in Rosetta

The "Needs review" mark is generally used in two cases:

- when a translation is "fuzzy" in the traditional gettext fuzzy meaning
  (ie, the original string has changed slightly, making the translation
  need some update).
- when a Rosetta translator adds a translator they are not sure about.
  If you want to catch other team members attention on one of your
  translations you think might be wrong, mark it fuzzy, and your team
  reviewers will stumble uppon it.

For now, translations come from the program sources as imported in the
distro. At this time, Hoary is being imported into Rosetta.

Yes, if you're a member. If you know you're working on a project that is
handled elsewhere, each translation team will have to arrange with the
other translation projects not to duplicate efforts (say you translate
GNOME 2.12 through rosetta without coordinating with the GNOME
translation project team for your language).

You'll be translating both. If you translate in Hoary, Rosetta will keep
this translation and suggest it for the Breezy set of messages. In the
future, these translations will apply to all distros automatically,
unless a distro managed by Launchpad has specific needs.

In general, I think it's a good idea to work on the upcoming version of
Ubuntu, though.
