I asked Emanuele not to list me in his previous applications since I had
no chance to sponsor any of his works since they were targeted for
$distro-security.

During his first steps as new contributor, he was one of my mentee. He
came from Gentoo development, so he was already familiar with patches
and how to grab upstream fixes, he just needed guidance on Debian/Ubuntu
tools and he learned how to use them quickly, so there was no need to be
his mentor again.

During Intrepid development cycle, I had the occasion to sponsor some of
his requests (mostly merges/syncs). Overall quality was good, there were
some minor details I wanted to be adjusted, he always replied quickly
and package was finally ready for upload.
I think he has skills to go unassisted. As long as he keeps working with
MOTU team, I trust he will ask advices from other developers about
procedures if unsure on how to proceed. This will become more and more
important as we will get close to the release.

I suggested him to prefer public channels instead of private queries
when asking for things related to development purposes. This way,
everyone can join the discussion and eventually correct wrong advices.

About "pushing people to get things done", there were cases where
Emanuele asked me to upload things directly without passing through
u-u-s queue. In case of urgency, I was happy to upload packages,
otherwise I subscribed u-u-s queue and package were uploaded shortly
during regular code rewiew activities. This is the common workflow, and
I'm happy to give priority to older debdiffs, just to demonstrate we
sponsor things with short delays.
