I'd say it's the applicants' jobs to hassle their sponsors to provide
feedback (even if it's neutral or negative), but I'm not opposed at all
more questioning / reviewing, etc.

In terms of my own involvement with the MC I'm on top of things right
now. As a team I think we're going to do better with
 - asking the applicant to solicit feedback
 - making sure that all applications have been followed up on (MC
members set up reminders for themselves)
in the future.
