Hi again Friet,
I do not know much about firmware upgrades.
The discussion about including tools for 'extended lifespan' into
Lubuntu can be continued at the Lubuntu Users mailing list. I hope and
think other people might have ideas about it.
Please post a question in the Hardware Forum at the Ubuntu Forums.
