I'm pretty sure you're right. I remember a very similar problem a year 
ago (or so) with the standard crunchbang waldorf theme. For what i 
remember, there was something *IN* the theme which was not gtk3 compatible.

But, may be in this case it is a ppc related problem (?) ...
