I would hope not.  That sounds dreadful for someone who has never used 
any flavour of Linux before.  I think this is a bug, and should not be 
present.
I haven't tested the LiveCD since Alpha... and at present I am very busy...
but if you need me to I will test it and confirm it, if you experience 
it as well.
